The programme manager will be responsible for three interrelated fields in ECNC’s programme on “Business and Biodiversity”, which have market-based biodiversity conservation and sustainable development as their binding element:
- Biodiversity and business, addressing the interaction between biodiversity and economic, financial and land use sectors, with an emphasis on banking, agriculture and corporate ecological entrepreneurship;
- Regional development, addressing the role of biodiversity and landscapes in rural and urban planning and land use, including ecosystem services and branding of regional products;
- Economic valuation of biodiversity, addressing and measuring the contribution of biodiversity to the economy and innovation.
The programme manager should have entrepreneurial affinities and should be able to speak the language of the corporate sector, whilst being able to link initiatives and activities to European, national and sub-national policy priorities and state of the art science.
Main tasks
- Coordinate the development and implementation of projects within her/his programme team;
- Represent ECNC at relevant external meetings, including high level science, business and policy forums;
- Monitor and keep in tune with developments in the field of sustainable development and biodiversity, in particular in relation to the areas mentioned above;
- Supervise the work of project managers and project officers.
Requirements
- Masters degree in relevant fields;
- At least 5 years of practical experience in relevant enterprises and/or organizations;
- Affinity with corporate sectors and working in an international environment;
- Fluency in English and at least one other European language.

What ECNC offers
ECNC offers you a dynamic and inspiring work environment. Salary will range between € 3050,- and 4580,- per month. For non-Dutch people a 30% tax deduction ruling may apply, depending on decisions of the Dutch tax authority.
